When I had Aj & got a chance to be online, I kept on searching some ways to help my baby acheive his maximum potential. Luckily, I came across this article.
When I read this article, I was really amazed on how an infant's brain works. So, I'm sharing this article to all the mommies and soon to be mommies! :)
When my wife was about eight months pregnant, I started talking to our unborn baby. I told him that he will be a boy and his name will be Len Al. I put my lips on my wife's belly and called his name. I talked to him both in the Filipino language and English. I did the "fetal talking" every day until my wife was about to deliver.
We were so sure that he would be a boy (during that time there were no sonograms to determine the sex), that we decorated his bedroom in blue and we bought baby clothes for a boy.
On the freezing day of 28 January 1973, my son was born in Bangor, Maine. I talked to him at once and called his name. Every time I noticed that he was wide awake and alert, I talked to him. "How are you, kumusta ka?" Frequently my wife and I talked to him bilingually in Tagalog and English during his first twelve months. We also read to him frequently. Sometimes I read him some of my medical books.
When we were teaching him parts of his body, I even used some medical terms when pointing to his anatomy. One of the first anatomical words he uttered was "patella" when he was a toddler. The first two words that he was able to read at two years old were "Subaru" and "Toyota."
When Len Al was one month old, I ordered toys for three to four month olds from Johnson & Johnson. I made it a point to provide toys that were developmentally at least two to three months ahead of his age. I stimulated his brain development by talking and reading and playing with him every time I was at home. It was a fun time for our family when I was challenging his skills. Len Al and I played with a ball when he was four months old. When he was on his belly, I would place a small ball in front of him that he could reach easily. Once he reached for it and grabbed it, I would say, "Good boy," and show him my joy. Then I would move the ball an inch or two farther where he could not reach it easily. Then I would say, "Go get the ball, Len." With persistence, ultimately he maneuvered himself to reach and grab the ball, then I celebrated with joy, "Good job, son!"
In the kitchen, when my wife was doing something, she made it a point to show him the things and objects she was holding. At feeding time, Len Al loved the airplane spoon game. My wife would put the carrots from Gerber on a spoon, and at about 12 inches from his mouth she would say, "Here is the airplane coming," and the spoon would go into his mouth with carrot and all. My wife stayed at home for 12 months with our son.
When Len Al was one year old, we had a 70 year old babysitter, Yolanda, who came to our house to take care of him. Yolanda was his second teacher, and she probably did better than we did at educating him. Both Yolanda and Al had nature walks, apple sauce cooking, and almost no TV.
Our son did extremely well during his elementary grades. He was always in the top of his class, and during high school he got only one "B" and all the rest were "A's." He was summa cum laude at the University of Maine, with a BS in Biology. He was accepted at three medical schools. He graduated from medical school at Tufts University in Boston May 2001. Now Len Al is a first year resident at MedPeds (Medicine and Pediatrics) at Albany Medical Center in New York. We attribute his successful academic performance to our early stimulation of his brain during the first 9 months by frequent talking, reading, playing with blocks, and traveling.
Most parents can make their infants advanced in emotional, cognitive, and language development by recognizing that the most crucial time of development of a child is from pre-natal to the first nine months of life. During this time, the growth and development of the brain is the fastest and in high gear. The earlier the brain cells or neurons are stimulated, the more synapses (connection of one neuron to another) are created. It is the early neural synapses that make us remember, learn, talk, think, count, and create better.

Ofcourse, I don't want Adrian to suffer the inconvenience or the "withdrawal" symptoms of breaking up his old time habit. Whew! What a busy week this is!
Since Monday, I've been so occupied with the holiday rage and year end cram! Don't even have enough time to update my blog and post some significant events that happened for the past few days. Though sometimes, I sneak in and finished some of my opps (but I have still 3 pending) and unfortunately 1 got expired. Sayang! But its ok, there will still be more opps next year db? :)
Overall I rate my week as tedious but breathaking. Tedious because of some office works and audits to prepare for the year-end, breathaking because of the shopping and lots of Christmas stuffs! you know.. just love that! lol! :)
Anyway, I hope your week was a blast like mine! :)

This is a tag from Denz. Sorry for the late posting bro.
Here are the rules:
~Start copy paste~
Instructions:To play this game, all you must do is explain what your most common writing mistake is. Then, simply tag 5 people for the meme. Those 5 will, in return, tag 5 more people. Ultimately, readers should see a tapestry of common grammar and spelling mistakes. Therefore, anyone who feel ashamed of their errors will feel a bit more confident and secure.Copy the person and persons’ names that sent it to you and add your own at the bottom of the list. It really helps build community.
Shine with Grace : Mixing the word ‘from’ with ‘form’ all the time.
Trinity : I sometimes feel confused to use past tense or present tense when I share my stories.
LadyJava : Typing too fast that sometimes I miss words in between.
Genie King : I type too fast too… always end up with ‘tot he’… when it should be ‘to the’.
Spiff : I type too fast that I end up with sentences that have no spaceinbetween… LOL!
Nessa : Mostly grammatical mistakes… but it doesn’t really bother me as long as my readers understand
Choc Mint Girl: Obviously grammatical error due to lack of vocabulary…but getting better and better and better…he he he…
Liza : I type too fast too that’s why sometimes my spellings are wrongf… see. Lol And same with Grace, mixing the word from and form at times. (I’ll be posting this tag to my other
blogCecil: errors on grammar and sometimes I don’t know where to place my comma or when to use colon or semi-colon too.)Nancy: I’m always trying to use every function of my fingers but can’t really help but slip which resulted to pressing the wrong key most of the time.Darlene: I always made a mistake by typing HELATH instead of HEALTH. Sometime the FOR is FOT because the R and the T are very close to each other lol! Anyway i always do mistakes when i type, everybody does i guess no matter how good you are in typing you always make some mistakes.Bisdak Footprints I usually have wrong typo when I am in a hurry typing entries during PPP time because need to be fast so I can grab as many opps as I can.For that, wrong typo making my english look worse to others. They read it before I can do some editing..they might think my english is so bad..ahhermmm…but i edit it anyways…
Twerlermz : I’m using basic or simple english most of the time so i think my most common mistakes are : redundancy, spelling and grammar (toink!)
Thira: I type too fast too, sometimes my mind is way ahead with my typing so I miss out and misspell words and I have to go back and read again and correct it. Sometimes using the past and present tense in writing, and using the hyphen properly, wehehe:)
Juliana: I always mis-spell “you”. More often that not I type it as “oyu” because I’m typing fast and
because it’s a three letter word, it’s prone to get typed incorrectly. It’s good there’s a spelling checker hehe, I always catch the mistake before it is published.
Teebob : If I write an article about a male person I often use her or she instead of him or he.
Norm : Sometimes I’m confused of the grammar and right spelling. Then I’m typing so fast that usually miss-spell taht instead of that and many more.
Brian: typing errors just like Norms and Teebob. I don’t edit my work before posting it.
Catsy:Most of my mistakes are grammatically incorrect sentences, spellings, typographical errors and sometimes, the words I type precedes my thoughts that’s why sometimes it’s unorganized.. HEhehe.. Pax Chriti!!!
Noel: Most of my mistakes are my grammar and not worried with the spelling because blogger platorm is providing a check spelling button, and also the sequence of thoughts it is always not in order.
Denz : I also sometimes feel confused to use past tense or present tense when I am writing, specially when it has a lot of sentences hehehe lolz c”,)
Eds : I have similar errors like most of the bloggers quoted. Mixed words, grammars, past tense typographical errors.
How about you Jona?
